Chinese people have lived in New York City since the mid-1800s, and after nearly two centuries of hard work and perseverance, they are now the largest Asian ethnic group in NYC. Statistics
The Museum of Chinese Americans (MOCA), founded in 1980, is one of the only museums in NYC dedicated to preserving the history of Chinese American culture. Located on Centre Street in Lower Manhattan, the MOCA strives to educate and help the general public appreciate and understand the importance of Chinese American history.
